modding
Modding comes from modifying, changing. Case modding refers to changes to the case. In case modding, the familiar appearance of a personal computer is redesigned so that it has little in common with the original.
The appearance should be as unique as possible after case modding and serves to embellish the personal computer. The pallet reaches from the color design by a new lacquer finish of the case, over Air Brush graphics up to the employment of transparent case materials. Material changes to the housing inevitably bring EMC problems with them.
Modding itself refers to the case interior and the tuning of the PC. In modding, the components and drives are pimped out with high-quality and eye-catching materials, by installing lasers and LEDs, and by many things that make little functional sense.
