media change
- A media change occurs when the same information is transferred from one medium to another during transmission. For example, a text file could be printed out, which would result in the first media change, and then faxed to a recipient who captures the text electronically, thus subjecting it to another media change. This is also referred to as a media break.
- A media change equally refers to a transition from one transmission medium to another. For example, in the transition from fiber optic cables to STP cables.
