maximum ratio combining (space diversity) (MRC)

Maximum Ratio Combining(MRC) is a variant of spatial diversity of multi- antenna systems. The method aims to increase the received field strength of radio signals by using multiple antennas. The radio signals received by the individual antennas of an antenna array are received individually and processed according to a specific algorithm that takes into account the signal-to- noise ratio( SNR) of the individual RF signals. The processed signal is a combination of all the individual signals.

The MRC process improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and reduces the error rate.
