logical group node (ATM) (LGN)

The Logical Group Node (LGN) is a conceptual ATM node of an ATM network for the Private Network to Network Interface( PNNI).

The LGN node represents a single ATM node of the lowest peer group in relation to the respective higher peer group. The concept with the logical group node provides a recursion mechanism with which the ATM network can be partitioned and aggregated. The Private Network to Network Interface (PNNI) partitions the network into hierarchical peer groups( PG) of Logical Group Nodes (LGN). Each peer group from a lower hierarchical level is aggregated into a Logical Group Node of the higher one.
