leadless chip carrier (chip design) (LCC)
Various IC packages are available under the name Chip Carrier. These are rectangular or square packages that have connection contacts on all four sides.
The base material can be plastic or ceramic and the connection contacts can be made directly on the package sides or as pins. Leadless Chip Carrier( LCC) is a chip carrier package without connection pins. The connections are located as contacts on the four outer sides of the package.
The LCC sockets are specified by the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council( JEDEC). They are available for through-hole technology and SMT technology. LCC sockets are reliable and suitable for shock and vibration loads.
