intelligent energy management (ARM) (IEM)

Mobile devices should consume as little power as possible and adapt the power consumption to their operating situation. Controlled power consumption and reduced power consumption increase battery life and thus longer operating times are achieved with the same battery size.

Intelligent Energy Management (IEM) is a method implemented in ARM processors to minimize power consumption. IEM management determines the minimum required power for each application within the operating system while ensuring the required quality of service. The IEM method works particularly efficiently when different applications are running on the mobile device at the same time.

In the IEM process, the clock frequency runs as low as possible, and at the same time, the individual applications are recorded in terms of performance requirements and assigned their own policies. The ARM processor uses these guidelines to determine the required performance.
