The term "home shopping" refers to the purchase of everyday goods from home.

Home shopping is a special form of shopping and falls into the category of distance selling, which means that the customer is sent the selected product. There are three different types of home shopping: teleshopping, catalog shopping and online shopping.

In teleshopping, the products are presented on television and can then be ordered directly, for example, by calling. In catalog shopping, the customer selects his or her desired product from a printed catalog or brochure. Orders are mostly placed by telephone, online by mail or by fax. In online shopping, the customer buys a product using e-commerce, which is offered for sale on a supplier's website.
