high availability cluster multi-processing (IBM) (HACMP)

High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing (HACMP) was developed by IBM to increase the reliability of interconnected systems. It targets systems in which time-critical applications are processed. HACMP software ensures that critical resources and applications are available for processing. Corresponding HACMP systems can be designed redundantly in the server systems and the communication links.

As can be seen from the name HACMP, it ensures high availability( HA) and cluster multi-processing( CMP).
