executive information system (EIS)

Due to the dynamic development of management processes, the first application programs for management processes were already developed in the mid-eighties, breaking down the rigid, hierarchical organizational structures and intervening in the decision-making processes.

These computer-based systems are called Executive Information Systems ( EIS) and serve managers and executives as information systems through which they have easy access to decision-relevant information.

Executive Information Systems are supported by graphics programs that present the data in presentation graphics. EIS systems are available for a wide range of companies and hierarchies. They support decision makers in identifying weaknesses and problems, in marketing existing and new products, for collecting sales and revenue statistics, for asset management, customer management, and for much more. One of the best known EIS systems are Management Information Systems( MIS).
