enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)

Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) from Sun is a client-side component model for the Javaprogramming language that provides clients with the functions and properties they need.

It is comparable to the Component Object Model( COM) of Microsoft and more complex than the JavaBeans. Over Enterprise JavaBeans program components are distributed in the Client server model to the Clients. The client server architecture has thereby the advantage that the applications run on the server and changes and updates in the server software can be managed more simply, than constant updates on the distributed clients. The distributed JavaBeans secure the transactions and are scalable.
