end of active video (BT.656) (EAV)
End of Active Video (EAV) are data words that indicate the end of an active line ofHDTV.
The Serial Digital Interfacce( SDI) data stream is specified in BT.656 and consists of the initial identifier, Start of Active Video( SAV), visible line content data words, and End of Active Video.
The EAV identifier is located 12 samples before the following horizontal synchronous pulse and consists of four data words. These data words are used not only to identify the end of the line, but also whether the line has a visible content or whether it is a line of the vertical blanking interval, and also which field it is.
