Digital television enables new forms of interaction. With digital response TV or also called direct response TV, the TV viewer has the possibility to interact via digital return channels.

Such return channels exist in digital TV according to DVB Return Channel for Cable( DVB-RCC) and also in satellite transmission with DVB Return Channel for Satellite( DVB-RCS).

Interaction via the return channel can be used, for example, by TV editorial teams to obtain an opinion from viewers. Even more common, however, is the use of TV shopping channels, which enables digital viewers to buy products and services immediately or to provide customer feedback.
