content provider (CP)
A content provider ( CP) is a service company or service department of a company that offers its own or third-party content for use by third parties. The content provider receives the content from the information provider, content producer or content owner and markets it via content brokers and content syndications or directly.
The content can be marketed via the Internet or intranets. In the case of intranets, a company's employees and other authorized users benefit from the content. Depending on the marketing concept and usage agreement, the content is accessible for a fee or can be accessed freely.
Typical examples of content provided by content providers are press reviews, weather services, stock market prices or news. But radio broadcasts and television content are also increasingly part of the content offering.
