concatenate
- The term Concatenate comes from the OSI area. Here, several protocol data units( PDU) of a higher layer are combined or mapped on a single service data unit( SDU) of a lower layer. The inverse function to this action is called separating.
- With programs it concerns the merging of programs or program functions, to which different tasks are assigned.
- In the memory technology one speaks of chaining if data contents of different memory places are attached to each other. For this the addresses are concatenated, so that the memory represents itself as a unit with larger address space.
