Cellular RAMs have several advantages over Static RAMs(SRAM) due to their structure and are expected to replace them in cell phones. Cellular RAMs combine the more compact memory cells of Dynamic RAMs( DRAM), which consist of only one transistor and one capacitor, with an SRAM-type interface that has shorter access times.

Cellular RAMs are characterized by extremely low power consumption and are therefore predestined for use in mobile devices.
