cdmaOne is a brand name for a 2nd generation mobile communications system whose specifications are based on the TIA/ EIA standardIS-95, with IS-95 referring to earlier protocol sets. Operating according to Code Division Multiple Access( CDMA), cdmaOne is a migration stage towards CDMA2000.

cdmaOne describes an end-to-end radio system that offers a number of services. These include cellular operation, personal communication service( PCS), fixed radio links and roaming.
