adjacent node

  1. In theSNA architecture, Adjacent Nodes are nodes that are directly connected to an existing node, with no nodes in between.
  2. In DECnet and OSI, and thus in Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI, Adjacent Nodes are nodes that share a LAN segment.
