PICT format
The PICT file format is the original file format for exchanging images. It is an Apple format designed specifically for the Apple MacIntosh.
The PICT file format offers the possibility of exchanging object-oriented representations between different user programs. This file format can contain files ofvector graphics as well as bitmaps. It works with the lossy compression methodJPEG or PackBits, has one or three channels with 1 bit to 8 bits per channel for B/W or color representations with the primary colorsred, green, blue( RGB) and the secondary colors cyan, magenta and yellow.
Since there are different PICT versions, compatibility is not always guaranteed. As extension, PICT files have the suffixes *.pict or *.pct.
