PC800 Rambus dynamic RAM (PC800 RDRAM)

Thanks to Rambus technology, the performance of memory modules can be further increased. The RIMM PC800 RDRAMmodule, for example, has an access time of 8 ns, a Columm Access Strobe( CAS) of 1.25 ns and a bandwidth of 1.6 GB/s from clock frequency and word length.

This performance explosion compared to Synchronous Dynamic RAM( SDRAM) is unique. In addition, the Rambus module is characterized by compatibility. This means that RIMM modules can be interchanged with full system compatibility, regardless of memory size, speed or organization.

The PC800 RDRAM is supplied with 2.5 V, has a bus with a bus width of 16 bits, can be clocked with clock frequencies from 200 MHz to 800 MHz and has 184 contacts in the version with error correction( ECC) and 168 in the non-ECC version.
