LX.5 connector
The LX.5 fiber optic connector belongs to the group of SFF connectors (Small Form Factor), the small space-saving fiber optic connectors.
The LX.5 connector is comparable to the LC connector and the MU connector, but still has an integrated sealing cap that protects the end surfaces from dirt and scratching and prevents the laser beam from escaping. The external dimensions correspond to those of the mentioned LwL connectors.
The LX.5 push-pull connector is available as a single connector and as a duplex version. It has a ceramic ferrule, can be used with single- mode fibers and multimode fibers, is designed for at least 1,000 mating cycles and is highly temperature resistant. The typical insertion loss is 0.25 dB.
