DVD forum
The DVD Forum was established in the 1990s from consumer electronics companies to work out standards for the further development of the compact disc( CD).
The founders of the DVD Forum include Sony, Philips, Time Warner, Hitachi, JVC, Matsushita, Pioneer, Thomson, Toshiba and Mitsubishi. The Forum now consists of more than 200 companies from various industries.
In terms of standards, the DVD Forum has adopted: DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, DVD-Enhanced, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM.
