digital versatile disc read only memory (DVD-ROM)
The DVD- ROM(Digital Versatile Disc Read Only Memory) corresponds in its characteristics to the CD-ROM. It is created in a pressing plant, can only be read and is used, among other things, for the distribution of programs, games and multimedia applications.
The data is stored on the DVD-ROM in a spiral track without write addressing. Depending on the type of DVD, a DVD-ROM can have storage capacities of 4.7 GB, 8.5 GB, 9.4 GB and 17 GB. DVD-ROM uses the standardized Universal Disk Format( UDF) that computers, video and audio players understand.
