Context-Enriched Services

Context-enriched services differ from traditional service offerings in that the information is geared to the needs of the user. The medium plays a subordinate role. It can be printed paper, a web browser, a smartphone or a tablet PC.

Context-enriched content is exclusively about the context and its enrichment with additional information. If possible, with information that the user needs at the moment. Augmented reality( AR), as used in location-based services( LBS), is an example of context-enriched content. This can be additional information about a building or offers from nearby cinemas or restaurants.

The goal of Context-Enriched Content is to enrich the information offered with information that might be of interest to the user. To do this, Context-Enriched Content uses situational information such as location, date, personalized data such as gender, financial status, and information such as past consumer behavior or predictions about possible future behavior to enrich personalized content.
