The serial bus system used in the AppleMacintosh, the Apple Desktop Bus (ADB), is used to communicate with simple peripherals such as a scanner, mouse, keyboard, light pen, graphics tablet, etc. that are connected serially. Up to 16 peripherals can be addressed. The ADB bus has two ports, but can drive more than two devices by daisy chaining.
