Tethering

Tethering is a technology with which laptops or tablets can be connected to the Internet via a smartphone and the mobile network.

Tethering technology can be useful when the laptop does not have a direct Internet connection. The smartphone, which is connected to the laptop via a cable or Bluetooth, then forms a modem and connects to the Internet via the mobile network. Tethering is supported by various smartphone operating systems, such as Windows Mobile and iPhone OS.
