The Subnetwork Independent Convergence Protocol (SNICP) is an OSI protocol for the interconnection of different subnetworks. This subnetwork-independent convergence protocol is located in one of the three sublayers of the network layer and serves as an independent protocol for end instances and interworking units ( IWU).
