In software development, a stub is a small program routine that takes the place of a longer program. A stub takes on the role of a substitute and can replace longer program codes because they do not yet exist, are running on a remote computer, or have not yet been installed. In the case of a program that uses Remote Procedure Call( RPC), it is compiled with stubs. The stubs forward the requests made to the remote procedure.
