storage class memory (NVMe) (SCM)

Storage Class Memory(SCM) is a hybrid storage technology that is a combination of memory and storage formed by a special memory storage layer. SCM storage combines the advantages of solid-state drives( SSD) with those of hard disks( HD).

As for the advantages of SCM technology, SCM memories are characterized by robustness and high performance and storage speed, at the same time they have the persistence ofHDDs and can be used for archiving. As for hard disks, they have much lower storage speeds compared to SSDs. The same is true for read and write speeds compared to flash storage. In addition, the memory storage layer is more resistant, and they are not subject to any wear and tear.

SCMs store data persistently, which means that the stored content is completely preserved even in the event of a crash or during interruptions, failures and reboots.
