socket direct protocol (SDP)

Like the TCP/ IP Offload Engine ( TOE), the Socket Direct Protocol( SDP) is used to accelerate network file systems. SDP works with Remote DMA( RDMA) and maps the programming interface ( API) from the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to the Remote DMA. The Session Description Protocol (SDP) is simple in design and takes advantage of RDMA.
