single user system
The term single-user system or single-user system is a relic from the 1970s.
A single usersystem is a data processing system that works independently and for only one user at a time. Single user systems usually work in multi-functional applications and can also be connected to communication services. Such a single-user or workstation system does not offer configuration options for simultaneous use by multiple users, although it may also be networked with other systems for data exchange. Contrast: multi-user system.
