single channel per carrier (Sat.-Kom.) (SCPC)
In contrast to Multiple Channels Per Carrier( MCPC), satellite transmission with Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) transmits a single channel per carrier frequency from the transponder.
SCPC is used for narrowband transmissions where each signal is modulated onto its own carrier frequency, which facilitates receiver-side selection and prevents signals from interfering with each other. This is the case, for example, for Satellite News Gathering( SNG). With SCPC, a connection to the satellite can be established from any location, but the symbol rates are very low.
