simultaneous voice and LTE (SVLTE)

Simultaneous Voice and LTE (SVLTE) is a protocol that enables a cell phone to use voice and data networks simultaneously. Especially when the voice network is CDMA with Single Carrier Radio Transmission Technology( 1xRTT) and the data network is Long Term Evolution (LTE).

The SVLTE procedure is not supported by all smartphones. The SVLTE service is of interest because CDMA and LTE networks were originally designed for data communication and not for voice communication.

In terms of the deployment scenario, SVLTE is of less interest than Voice over LTE( VoLTE). In this service, voice and data are transmitted simultaneously via the LTE network.
