A risk profile is an analysis of the threats to which an organization, project or individual is exposed. The analysis is about different types of threats.

The purpose of the risk profile is to provide a non-subjective understanding of risk. For this purpose, the different threat scenarios and the dangers they pose are presented and numerical values are assigned to them. Each company, organization and project has its own unique risk profile. This is based on the assets to be protected, the objectives sought, and the ability and willingness to manage risk.

Risk profiles are used by companies to align their strategy and actions with their risk appetite. Risk management activities are derived from this.
