pseudo random binary sequence (PRBS)

Pseudo Random Binary Sequence (PRBS) is a loading pattern applied in bit error rate tests ( BERT) to determine the bit error rate ( BER). It is based on a pseudo-random sequence and is suitable for measuringjitter and displaying the eye diagram. The test pattern can be used equally for copper-based lines and optical transmission media.
