power line harmonic radiation (power supply) (PLHR)

Power Line Harmonic Radiation (PLHR) means the radiation of harmonics from power lines. Power lines generate interference radiation which is emitted as electromagnetic fields.

In the case of normal power lines, this is referred to as Power Line Radiation( PLR), in contrast to which power lines are referred to as Power Line Harmonic Radiation (PLHR).

Most low and high voltage networks operate with an AC voltage of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Due to non-linear loads and mechanical imperfections, harmonics with a multiple of the fundamental frequency are formed on power lines, which can be radiated by the power line with sufficient energy. All of these harmonics are in the low frequency( VLF) range up to 30 kHz. This interference radiation can impair the transmission characteristics of certain services such as Powerline.
