permanent circuit via satellite
A fixed connection via satellite (FSat) is a point-to-point connection for the transparent transmission of data, fax and voice in the footprint of a satellite.
FVSat was originally launched to meet the increased communications demand in the new German states in the short term; FVSat's fixed-switched permanent connections dispense with terrestrial access lines in public networks and are reserved exclusively for users; available speeds of up to 4 x 64 kbit/s or 2 x 128 kbit/s, depending on location; in addition, demand-oriented channel sharing (sub-bit rates) by means of multiplexers; user-side connection via ground stations with relatively small antenna diameters of 1.8 meters.
