open settlement protocol (OSP)

The Open Settlement Protocol (OSP) is a client- server protocol defined by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute ( ETSI) to establish authenticated connections between gateways, providing gateways and servers with a secure connection for the transfer of accounting data and routing information. The OSP protocol allows service providers ( SP) to extend services around VoIP without an agreement with an Internet service provider ( ISP).
