open profiling standard (OPS)

With the Open Profiling Standard

(OPS), customers define their own purchasing behavior. This purchasing profile, which is created on the basis of personal data and purchasing habits and transmitted to e-commerce providers, allows the provider to optimize his offer to suit the customer. To protect personal data, the World Wide Web Consortium

(W3C) has developed the Platform for Privacy Preferences Project

(P3P) from the Open Profiling Standard. The Open Profiling Standard is used, among other things, in an extended form in the ICE protocol, Information and Content Exchange (ICE).
