ITWissen.info - Tech know how online

offline browser

Web browsers usually work online. However, in order to reduce the connection costs for online connections, for example, browsers also have the option of working offline.

If a browser works as an offline browser, then the web pages called up are copied to the hard disk in online mode. In the subsequent offline mode, the previously saved web pages can then be worked through in detail without incurring online costs.

Offline browsing only makes sense if the transfer rates are relatively low and the connection costs are calculated according to the connection time. With flat rates and high data rates, online browsing makes sense. There are special download tools for downloading entire websites.
