microcomputer compensated crystal oscillator (MCXO)

Among the temperature compensated crystal oscillators, there are those that use analog

temperature compensation. These include the Analog Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillators (ATCXO), the digitally operating Digital Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (DTCXO) and the Microcomputer Compensated Crystal Oscillator (MCXO). They all differ in their accuracy

and frequency stability. MCXOs work with algorithms that compensate for all thermal effects and errors. This overcomes all the thermal limitations of TXCOs and OCXOs. The temperature-dependent stability values for MCXOs are 2x10exp-8, which is one power of ten higher than those of ATCXOs and DTCXOs.
