Link training is a procedure for checking a connection to a newly connected station in networks according to 100Base- VG. This procedure is used to check the connection and pass information to the repeater. The station newly connected to the network communicates information about the operating mode and MAC address to the 100Base-VG hub, while at the same time the functionality of the connection is checked.
