integrity check value (ICV)
In Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and 802.11, the data integrity of the user data is ensured by a 32-bitchecksum, the Integrity Check Value (ICV). This ensures that the WEP frame has not been tampered with during transmission. The ICV checksum is used for cyclic block checking (CRC), it is appended as a data field to the 802.11 payload and encrypted with Wired Equivalent Privacy.
