initial graphics exchange specification (IGES)

Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) is a standardized file format for the exchange of vector graphics, which was standardized by ANSI and is primarily used for the description of models in Computer Aided Design( CAD). IGES has a variety of geometric shapes and functions that can be used to describe and annotate engineering drawings.
