incremental packet writing (IPW)

Incremental Packet Writing (IPW) uses a Compact Disc Recordable (CD-R) to replicate the functionality of a 650 megabyte (MB) floppy disk, a super disk. This method allows data blocks of variable or fixed length to be stored on a compact disc (CD) without closing the corresponding track after saving.
