The Host Channel Adapter (HCA) is a component of InfiniBand that serves as a connection component between the processors and the external peripherals. The HCA has direct access to memory and processors and is responsible for data transport. It communicates with the Target Channel Adapters ( TCA) via the InfiniBand switch.
