fast packet keying (TKIP) (FPK)

Fast Packet Keying(FKP) is a method for key generation in the Temporal Key Integrity Protocol( TKIP). It is a powerful hash function with which a packet key is generated.

Principle of Fat Packet Keying (FPK)

In the FPK process, a temporary key is generated first. This temporary key is linked to the Transmitter Address( TA) in an XOR operation. This produces the Temporal Transmitter Address Key( TTAK), which is stored temporarily. The TTAK is used to calculate the Per Packet Key ( PPK) by means of a 48-bit initialization vector ( IV), a key that changes for each data packet. Each initialization vector may only be used once in conjunction with the temporary key.
