E-Mail-to-Speech or E-Mail-to-Voice is a service offered by network operators. With this service, the text of an e-mail is converted into voice information using text-to- speech( TTS) and attached to the e-mail as a voice file. The user can read the text of the e-mail or have it read aloud.

The e-mail-to-speech service is of particular interest to mobile users. They can have e-mails or short messages read aloud from their cell phone or smartphone and reply to them directly using voice input. The service offering may be subject to a charge, and relates to texts from e-mails, the short message service( SMS) or other text messages. It is generally offered with German and English voice output.
