dual signature

Dual Signature(DS) is a signature procedure in which two separate messages for two different recipients are linked together and confirmed with a digitalsignature.

In the dual signature process, the two messages are first handled separately, with each message receiving its own digital signature. Both messages are then linked together and encrypted with a private key. The result is the dual signature, which is transmitted over the Internet.

The recipient receives the Dual Signature, the first message and the digital signature of the second message. From the Dual Signature, the linked signatures of both messages are obtained using a public key. From the first message, its signature is derived and this is linked with the transmitted signature of the second message. The results of both linked signatures must be the same.

This procedure allows the recipient to verify the authenticity of a message without being able to view its contents. The dual signature procedure is mainly used in Secure Electronic Transaction( SET).
