cross modulation
Cross modulations result from mutual interference of two modulated carrier frequencies at nonlinear characteristics of active transmission components.
Cross modulations are caused by modulation of two or more modulated carrier frequencies on nonlinear characteristics of RF amplifiers, RF power amplifiers, mixers and other active RF components. Corresponding undesired modulations occur on the transmitting as well as on the receiving side due to undesired mixing of receiving frequencies with adjacent frequencies. They can occur at all active components of a communication channel.
