cost per sale (advertising) (CPS)

Cost-per-sale(CPS) is a performance indicator from which the cost-benefit ratio can be determined when selling products via online advertising.

In the cost-per-sale billing model, the website operator receives a percentage sales commission agreed in advance with the product provider. If a visitor clicks on the banner ad with the corresponding product offer, he is directed to the sales pages of the provider and can make his purchase there. The link from the website can be used to determine which website is responsible for the sale. The settlement with the website operator then takes place as Pay per Sale( PPS). This concept is used with affiliates.

The decisive factor in this billing model is that the visitor has actually and demonstrably made a purchase via the banner link.
